June 30, 2004 - New news - things you may or may not know about Sid and Lisa.  Also, check out the newest "Backyard Zoo".

June 27, 2004 - Seems the updates are coming on a weekly basis these days, I'll work to change that.  There's always more to do, I'm still working on honeymoon pictures and some new movie reviews.  We saw "Dodgeball" today, and really liked it. I am happy to report the completion of the posting of the pictures from Sid and Lisa's Lame Wedding, check out the pictures section for details.

I didn't get in from Phoenix until midnight last night, and I'm tired!  Boo hoo, an entire Saturday lost to a work trip.  I did manage to get some reading done, which is rare for me.  I finished Terry Pratchet's "Feet of Clay" (borrowed a long time ago from the Comrade Alex recommended reading collection), read Ken Follett's "Hornet Flight" (loved it, although it lost some of its grip towards the end), and started Dan Brown's "Angels and Demons", which I really am enjoying.

June 20, 2004 - I had a nice day yesterday visiting my parents in Dallas.  We went to the Cheesecake Factory for Father's day.  Lisa and I hung around the house all day today, she's feeling better but the pain still comes on strong occasionally and I think she had a fever earlier.  Mr. Nakimoto turned 100,000 miles on the way back from Dallas.  As a reward for his many years of reliable service ("I only wish to serve" ) he has a new timing belt, water pump, serpentine belt, valve adjustments, radiator fluid, transmission fluid, and nice, smooth turned from rotors.  I'm looking forward to the next 100K.

I've posted a new movie review, new Backyard Zoo, and some Lame News.

June 18, 2004 - Almost midnight.  Geeze I'm tired.  I'm preparing some things for my trip to see my parents in Dallas.  Lisa's zonked out from all of the medicine she's taking.  She's messed up, in case you didn't know.  Perhaps she'd like to describe the ordeal for your.

June 13, 2004 - Part deux.  A quick update, one new Backyard Zoo and some Lame News jokes to brighten tour Monday.

June 13, 2004 - Just when you thought the days of new movies reviews was over, low and behold, there are a couple.  You know where to go.  Also, please enjoy the new and improved Lame MP3 Player, now accessible directly from the first page.  Keep in mind it is a pop-up, so if you have a pop-up blocker enabled (I use Google) you'll need to disable or override it to play.  I've expanded it to contain 5 songs, for maximum Lame enjoyment.

June 9, 2004 - Rains, oh the rains.  It's been raining all day.  Roads are underwater.  Mr. Nakimoto is cranky, but he as always served me well traversing the temporary rivers.  I went to Charles and Cecelia's after work to help him tear our his dining room carpet, it flooded on Lisa's and my watch while they were away to Mexico City.  Turns out the water came in on the wall away from the door, and there's nothing we could have done.  So their carpet is in the trash, and it's time to go tile!  I hope Charles decides to tackle the task himself, then I can help - I've always wanted to lay tile.

While home for lunch today I noticed the water was precariously close to the bottom of the patio door.  No matter, it always is when we have rain.  The rain gutter over that side of the condo is broken, and all of the roof water channels straight into our patio.  So what did Lisa and I come home to this evening?  The GREAT FLOOD OF 2004!!  If you were watching the Lame Webcam you got to see me in my work clothes in the rain furiously scooping water with a dust pan from the patio out onto the driveway.  That method was surprisingly effective.  The situation is not helped by the fact I've sealed the patio so well as to prevent dirt from the flowerbed coming in, I've created a nice swimming pool. There's a break in the slab between the patio and condo, usually that's enough to drain the water.  Anyway, it soaked the carpet and pad about 4 feet into the living room.  We pulled back the carpet and extracted 1/2 gallon of water with our wet vac (not an exaggeration).  I'll post some picture of the chaos tomorrow after we vacuum the carpet.

June 6, 2004 - Greetings everyone, there are some very exciting projects underway at the Lame Web Page Institute.  Sadly for my Mother, none of which involved updating and completing wedding, honeymoon, or Las Vegas pictures.  The exciting developments may be found by navigating to the "links" section of the page, and while still bland and uninteresting you will find the addition of two new links.  We are proud to present, after an entire Sunday afternoon of intense and frustruating development, the Lame Web Page MP3 Player!  Featuring two new songs, the first by "They Might be Giants", a demo called "Camp Campingston Falls" and the second a contribution from Official Lame Web Page Musician Charles Roe that I'm guessing is titled "Samba Ourselves Back Out To Sea".  Charles is working on a children's album, and he left this for Lisa and I to listen to this weekend (it's untitled on the CD).  I have not asked Charles' permission to post it, so don't tell him.

Lisa wants me to remind you - you click on the Lame Web Page picturenator to stop on a picture, and click it again to start rolling.  You get to decide what picture you look at while you enjoy the Lame Web Page.

June 2, 2004 - Minor modification to the "Lame Web Picturenator" - click on the picture to stop the madness, then click again for another spin.  Maybe I'll make a slot machine.

May 31, 2004 - Fine then, I stayed up just for you and updated the news section.  Click above!

May 31, 2004 - Well, I didn't do so good today.  I promised a day of Lame Web updates, and oh I did work on the Lame Web Page.  Just not on updates.  We at the Lame Web Page institute present a new, 23% more Lame design!  Keeping the primary elements from the last design, we are proud to now include the exclusive "Lame Web Picturenator" - click on the picture in the top left corner and watch it "spin" away.  Continue to click until you've enjoyed all of the images.  Also enjoy the fancy new buttons to your left.  More dynamic, and of course more Lame than ever!

Of course, it's very late, and I'm very tired, perhaps I can squeeze out a little news for today.  Briefly - we hit 100 degrees today.  Geeze.  Also, we had hail, BIG hail, it was brief and thankfully the damage to the car was minimal.

May 29, 2004 - Inspired, I am!  Tomorrow's a day of cleaning in preparation for getting together with Charles, Cecelia, and Baby-O for dinner and perhaps a flick.  Lisa and I saw a performance by Lee "Ladee Leroy" Eddy this evening at St. Edwards University, and let me tell you folks - it was spectacular!  Incredibly well written and acted, in a great theater with great set, sound, and lighting design.  Did I mention funny?  Really, really, funny.  Even if you never go to Thundercloud.  Also, it's a love story.  It's like "Being John Malkovich" - you get a peak into an incredible artistic mind, but this time it's real.  Simply a pleasure.  Don't forget to visit Ladee Leroy's site, and of course (if you live in Austin AND YOU SHOULD) see her show, playing through June 14.

As usual, it's late (midnight) as I write this so I'm heading to bed.

May 26, 2004 - We saw a documentary "Stupidity" and the Alamo Village with Bill and Laurie.  More on that later.  I owe you reviews for "Northfork", "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", "Kill Bill Volumes 1 & 2", just to name a few.  I've been in a movie reviewing mood lately, so I'll get on it.  We have no plans for the upcoming long weekend, so hopefully I'll get some Lame Web Page work done.

May 24, 2004 - Another weekend races to an end.  Lisa and I went to Houston this weekend to see Anne Marie graduate from 8th grade, she received two (or was it three?) awards and a scholarship - way to go!  We also got to celebrate Tasha's 16th birthday.  We had a really fun weekend, it was my first time to visit Kathy and her kids in Houston.  I'll be back as soon as possible, I have to avenge my basketball loss to John.

Of course, I have pictures.  I'll write more later, I'm TIRED!

May 16, 2004 - Has it been a week already?  My how time flies.  Again, I'm too tired to do anything tonight.  I'll get serious on the web page this week.  I took Friday off to go visit my parents.  We watched "Curb Your Enthusiasm" episodes, ate dinner at El Fenix (translation - "The Fenix"), and had breakfast at Bar-Becs.  Lisa and I saw "Kill Bill Volume 2" at the Alamo, and I must say it is a very, very good film.  Very different from the first, it's a shame Miramax broke it up as it would be a masterpiece as one.  More on that if I ever get around to writing another movie review.

Lisa and I enjoyed the beautiful day, we sat at Barton Springs and played cards all afternoon, then went to the grocery store, and now it's 10 pm and I'm TIRED.  More soon I promise!

May 9, 2004 - Another lazy weekend gone by.  Here's the "Rundown" - Friday night Charles came over for dinner and a film, notice I say "film" and not "movie".  As I'm sure you're not aware, there haven't been any new Lame Movie Reviews as of late.  We don't see too many, so when I sit down to watch one I hope it's good.  Comrade Alex, of "Comrade Alex's 50 of the 64 Greatest Films Since the Revolution" highly recommended "Northfork".  He had been for a while, finally brining us his copy to watch.  OK, Comrade, we'll take you up on this.  I had seen the preview and admit I was intrigued.  Interesting story, great cast, bring it on.  We'll, it was like watching an old car rust.  Comrade, do I not recall a shift in preference to "movies" over "films"?  Northfork is everything that makes "film" bad.  More on that in the full review.  On a brighter note, the chicken parmesan turned out well.

Lisa had to work Saturday, aside from doing a load of dishes I slept.  I got up at eleven, had a rare weekend cup of coffee to get going, and then napped until Lisa came home.  We had planned to see a movie around seven, and I slept past the cut off time.  Finally, I mustered enough energy to see the 10:00 showing of "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind".  I promise a full review of this one, I'll sum up my feelings by noting I consider it a must see.

It's been a long while since Lisa and I have vegged in front of the TV for a day.  I believe the last time was to watch a full presentation of Stephen Spielberg's "Taken" on Sci Fi.  We watched a "Mythbusters" marathon on Discovery.  It's one of my favorite shows.  I'll put a link on the "Links" page, if I ever do another update (this week, I promise!).  We went to Katz's per our usual Sunday tradition.  I ordered my usual "Woody Allan's Spinach Frittata" (ok I didn't order it, the waitperson just knows) and Lisa had her pick of the sides, choosing a salad (honey mustard) on the side, potato salad, and creamed spinach.  We tried to split cheesecake for desert, diverging from our usual grilled sour cream pound cake with strawberries and Amy's ice cream.  We made it through about 2 bites.

After going out to enjoy the cool evening, we're back, and ready for bed.  Long week ahead.  By the way, my Dad's in the hospital, send some nice thoughts his way.  My Mom will attempt to kill me for writing that.  So there.

May 5, 2004 - My what a long day!  I'm too tired to write much, so here's the rundown - work, dentist, work, home, Bakehouse, new garbage disposal, and now a Lame Web Page update.  Check out the pictures section for a few from our trip to Terlingua.

May 2, 2004 - Boy, howdy it's been a while since an update.  We had a great weekend, of course it's gone by too quickly.  Guess what - we got a cat!  Yep, just couldn't do without one.  Not nearly as painful as I had imagined.  We went today to the local humane society to somehow choose one from the many.  We were immediately drawing to three kennels - the first had two brothers, black and white and slick.  We took them into a room to spend a little time with them.  Nice cats, but almost a little too friendly.  No shyness.  They really hung around each other more than with us, so we figure if they have to spend a little more time in the shelter they won't mind since they have each other to keep company.  The second was a really cute adult who quickly put herself out of the running by taking ever piece of food out of her bowl one piece at a time and spreading it around her cage.  The second visit was with Chula, who is a really adorable small tabby with long hair and green eyes.  Yes, we know - she's a cross between Ferdie and Kit.  A little skittish, but we expect that.  So we choose her.  And promptly decide to ditch the stupid name in favor of a more cute moniker.  I like "Audrey".  I think the verdict is still out until we get to know her better.  Check out today's "Lame News" for a picture.  I'll write more tomorrow about the long ride home.

April 24, 2004 - One minor update before a much needed reality break in spectacular Las Vegas!  Check out the "pictures" section for some new and very random shots.  The birthday fun has continued, I received a card from my cousins and another "Happy Birthday" song rendition, this time from Chris!

April 20, 2004 - What a great evening!  Let's start with the calls.  I am seriously impressed with the calls I've received today, all messages because I've been elusive, and I'm so glad because now I can put the singing on the Lame Web Page (with permission, of course).  It all started at 2am Central / Midnight Pacific, at the official start of my Lame birthday day - Alex and Cliff left a splendid duet rendition of "Happy Birthday" (author unknown) on my voice mail at work.  What a pleasure it was to hear that to start my work day.  Moving on to the home machine, a spectacular interpretation of "Young at Heart" by Jim and Juliet.  Well rehearsed, carried it right on though two calls after the machine cut them off.  I was then treated to a solo performance of the traditional tune, "Happy Birthday" by best person Alex.  Finally, a pair of messages (home and cell) from my #1 sister Erin.

Georgia made me a cake at work, the group sang "Happy Birthday" (again, traditional arrangement), emails from my Grandmother (wrote the aforementioned "Happy Birthday" song), my Dad, Mom, Juliet, Cecelia.  Jenny sent me a present from Amazon (on time, exact day, that's like 10 in a row!!!), Chris sent me a cool card stuffed with cool things (especially in light of my continuing Lame birthday celebration in Vegas this coming weekend!).  Great presents from my parents (I'm afraid of the rice, though), Grandmother, and I'm sure I'm forgetting someone.  Lisa tells me I have a card coming from Kathy and the kids, I can't wait.

My darling wife Lisa treated me to a birthday dinner at the restaurant of my choosing, in light of Ray's and Basil's closing I chose Z Tejas (Alex, you were right that we planned on Katz's, but we go there every week and the only think I really like is the Sunday special), we had crab cakes, Lisa had salmon, I had pork roast (mmm piggies) and we split berry cobbler for dessert.  Then we sat in the car and listened to talk radio, Clark Howard to help us keep from being ripped off and Neil Boortz, the outspoken Aggie Libertarian.  Loves to rail on Kerry.

I had a fabulous birthday, thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes and for making my day special!

April 16, 2004 - New Lame News, as always this is where it's at.  Click on the button above.  I'm off to Dallas tomorrow to celebrate my birthday (Tuesday) and my Grandmother's 86th (Friday) with my parents.  Lisa's off to her Aunt's house (Casa De Los Babies) annual fundraiser.

I guess I have to declare happiness with the current Lame Web Page layout.  This is the longest I've gone without changing the format.  I'll probably update the "moving pictures" at the corners next.  Also, it you look really closely (get right up against the screen) you can see that the page is not totally symmetrical. That bothers me, and action must be taken!

April 12, 2004 - Check out the Lame News (click on the button at the top) for a really, really stupid update making fun of Rhea County, TN (recall they tried to ban homosexuals from the county, really old news).  I'm too tired to do anything else tonight.  I have some good pictures to share, I'll get a couple up tomorrow.

April 11, 2004 - Another minor update, also in the "pictures" section - Part 2 of the Wedding people pictures.

April 9, 2004 - It's been a while.  Please visit the "pictures" section to enjoy a little tribute to the late Ms. Kit Wiggins Kitty.
